About the Maker
My name is Lacey Singleton and Grade Mare Leather Co. is my greatest passion. Growing up in Southern Colorado the western lifestyle has always been in my blood. Creating handmade leather items is something that fits right in with the west, and is the cowboys way of art. I have been working leather for about 4 years, and I hope to continue to grow into an even better maker.
My leather passion started when I moved home from graduating college, and got really bored job searching. I have always been a creative, but this is something I had wanted to try. I went to the craft store, and bought my first ‘starters kit’ and off I ran. It all started at my mom’s kitchen table. With the small amount of tools and scrap leather I had, I couldn’t get enough. There have been a lot of late nights, early mornings and long days of trial and error. I still have those days, and probably will as long as I continue to create.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far, and those of you that will find yourself here. My friends and family mean the world to me, and I wouldn’t be a small business if it wasn’t for them.
